Well I have tried all I can and used all console codes suggested to overcome the Mercer Frey bug issue. I have been in the santuary several times. Game freezes. Used code to help continue game but it did not do anything except unfreeze me but staill NO Mercer Frey battle and escape through the ceiling. used setstage TG08B 20 but nothing further happened but the game unfroze but will not continue. Also used satestage MGR20 20 to go aound this mission and show it as completed to continue on with the story line. NO GOOD, didn't change anything. So please, what do I do to continue the story and complete this Mercer Frey total BUG. Need your help. I have read that several others have also been stuck right here with this bug. What is the "go around" codes.

I don't know if you've tried it but there's a console command to complete a quest
"CompleteQuest
" Give it a whirl if you haven't it might help you

Important!!!!! just make sure you do not use this code "caqs" that will complete all your quests, the only reason i mention this Shibby is because i have not seen anything that says
"CompleteQuest" when i finished the game to start it again i tried "caqs" it ended the game totally for me, obviously nothing else left to do all Quests completed..lol

I think the command you're looking for is SetObjectiveCompleted <1 to set, 0 to unset>Edit
Used to set the quest stage as being completed or uncompleted. Use command ShowQuestTargets for quest IDs and player.sqs to show how many stages there are. (Useful for bugged quests; e.g. if you picked up a copy of The Old Ways before you got the quest to do so you would use SetObjectiveCompleted MGR20 10 1 to complete the objective of getting the book, and SetStage MGR20 20 to advance the quest to the next stage).

Thank you but none of the console codes suggested have worked. I get "complied script not saved" on every combination. Real bug here. Don't understand why there is NO "work around" that works. Don't get it when they know this glitch exists and NO patch available for rememdy. Any other help? Need to progress along here after over 200 hours of play time and now no more story line to persue. HELP.

Compiled script not saved is the game engines way of saying you entered it wrong.
Sometimes I have to re-read what the wiki says about how to enter the code and try again.
Sometimes a missing space, underscore or not adhering to the case sensitive type can give this result.
Help is good when asked for,
better when needed.
